I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!

A little about my personal journey with blood cancer.

In 2015 my husband was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, a blood cancer. He needed his first treatment (RCHOP) in 2022. The side effects of the chemo have been horrible, infections, pain, neuropathy, to name a few.

His diagnosis was a coincidence. there were no symptoms.

With no screening programs available and no means of prevention through lifestyle changes, blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis.

Every day, 53 Aussies are diagnosed with blood cancer, and 16 will lose their life.

We can't delay taking action together.

That's why I've decided to take part in the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave.

I'll be raising crucial funds that help give those facing blood cancer all the support and information they need, while driving breakthrough research projects discovering better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer.

I already have short hair, as I often get a #5 cut. I don't think I'd be comfy with the Peter Dutton look. :wink: My brother died of leukemia 20 years after diagnosis. So, I'll take the lazy persons way out, and donate $150. May there be many more such donations.
