Car 68 “GT Wanderers” (1970 XY GT Ford Falcon) is made up of Colin Layzell (Driver) and Steve Letton (Co-Driver) from Naracoorte SA.
The reason behind getting involved with the Aussie Muscle Car Run since its inception is easy; the main reason we signed up was for our close friend Joe Vella who was battling Leukaemia at the time, sadly he passed away from this terrible disease in 2014. We also wanted to be involved because the money raised goes towards helping fellow rural families that need to relocate to the city for treatment- everything we do is for them!
We take our fundraising very seriously as the Leukaemia Foundation receives no on-going government funding, its events like this one that allows them to offer services including home away from home accommodation, patient transport to and from appointments, counselling and financial assistance all FREE OF CHARGE not to mention aiding with research grants in order to one day find a cure for blood cancer.
To have raised $105,681 over the past 4 years only highlights to us the overwhelming generosity of our local and interstate sponsors and donors, not to mention the support given to us by the local media.
